Google transfers Kubernetes stewardship to CNCF

Google hands over ownership and control of the Kubernetes container orchestration project to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). In the future, the CNCF and its community members will be be responsible for Kubernetes.

Google published Kubernetes 2014 and formally submitted it as a project to CNCF in 2015, but continued to provide the infrastructure for development. Google will continue to do so after handing over leadership to the CNCF by providing $ 9 million worth of cloud resources over the next three years.
