Google Kubernetes Engine on-premises

At their Cloud Next conference Google unveiled its new "GKE On-Prem" product, which makes their Kubernetes cloud service available for on-premises operation. This will enable the seamless integration of container applications in the cloud and in the enterprise. For example, the on-prem service also registers itself in the web-based Google Management Console.

Other features include identity management, logging, security and a container build service, which Google offers as its own service. The currently available version of GKE On-Prem supports VMware vSphere 6.5. Further platforms are to follow depending on demand.
